Unanounced changes to FFXIV in patch 2.1

I came across this list of subtle changes that were buried in the patch notes for 2.1

General
  • The maximum number of statuses that can be inflicted upon notorious monsters and dungeon bosses has been raised to 60.
Buff to fates, means placing DoTs on these things will be worthwhile again.
  • Motions and effects have been changed for the following: Greased Lightning I / Greased Lightning II / Greased Lightning III / Astral Fire I / Astral Fire II / Astral Fire III / Umbral Ice I / Umbral Ice II / Umbral ice III
That screenshot of the triple-fireball BLM the other day? Yes, and monks get their love too.
  • EXP and gil received from battlecraft leves have been increased.
  • The Armoury bonus will now apply to EXP received upon completing battlecraft leves.
  • Completion bonuses received from battlecraft leves have been increased.
This means spamming leves might be efficient, as it's at least a 50% increase on alt classes. (There are several other leve changes, including HQ crafting turnins being nerfed, but this has been mentioned elsewhere already.)
Quality of Life
  • 4 hours must elapse since your last vote dismiss before you can initiate another.
  • You will be required to select a reason for dismissal. Please be warned that unjustified usage of vote dismiss is a punishable act.
Votekick will be in, but it warns that it's punishable. 4 hour cooldown.
  • Players who are continuously inactive for 10 minutes in a duty will now be automatically expelled.
Feature implemented. 3 minutes for pvp.
  • The cooldown penalty for abandoning a duty has been increased from 15 to 30 minutes.
Yet another commonly-posted-about request.
  • Players can now view deposit and withdrawal history for the company chest.
Finally I will know who put all those Demon Bricks.
  • The Add Member feature may now be used to recruit new members for trials and guildhests.
Useful for the titan HM (and soon EM) ragequitters.
  • The following items can now be stored in the armoire: Seasonal Gear, Event Items (Moogle hat etc), Crafter lv 50 blue tools
Juuuust after the lightning event ended. Should've got more of those weapons.
  • Additional summoning bells have been added near the market boards in each city-state.
Should be clear.
  • Pressing the confirm button with nothing targeted will now prioritize the selection of nearer targets.
Should make looting stuff with the confirm better much easier and faster.
  • The camera will now reset to its original position when the obstacle that triggered the camera adjustment is no longer obscuring the character's view.
  • An option for maintaining camera distance is now available for Legacy movement settings.
Finally fixed legacy mode.
  • The teleport destination list now includes area names.
Another thing often mentioned on reddit.
  • In the event that your letter box is full, preventing you from receiving item-attached letters, a warning message will be displayed.
Given the small mailbox limit, this has become a problem to me lately.
The following new keybinds are available:
  • Cycle Up Through Enmity List: Ctrl+NUM8 default
  • Cycle Down Through Enmity List: Ctrl+NUM2 default
Among others. But as a tank, I feel I'll be using this a lot more than clicking or tab-targeting.
  • Pressing the [Scroll Lock] key will now also hide the following UI elements: Target ring, Target lines, Aggro lines
Cleaner screenshots!
  • The screenshot feature may now be used for cutscenes.
For all the people who wanted to take screenshots in the Arcanist quest... Nobody tell anyone I did that.
  • Back Up and Recovery of Game Settings: A feature where you could import and export the macros, gear sets, hotbar, and various UI settings will be added.
An official backup feature, useful for moving PCs and stuff.
Customization
  • The following options have been added to the “System” -> “System Configuration” menu: Player Effects Volume (Self, Party, Other PCs)
Finally, no more of that donging sound it cities!
  • When repositioning windows on the "System" -> "HUD Layout" configuration screen, the NUM2-NUM8 or directional keys can now be used to move the currently selected window.
For the OCD out there, like me, who just HAS to get the hotbars aligned properly.
  • The following options have been added to the System -> Character Configuration menu: Cutscene Skipping
Guaranteed to bring your speedrun times down by another 5 seconds!
  • New user macro icons have been added.
Presumably for the missing skills. Scholars, check the entry for Pets down below.
  • The sound effect text commands to may now be used in Alliance chat mode, in addition to Party chat mode. These commands may now also be used in /echo messages.
u/seph64 pointed out this nugget to me. Excellent for self-warning macros without polluting party chat.
  • Display only detrimental effects you inflict.
  • With this setting enabled, detrimental effects not inflicted by you (or your pets, minions, and companions) will be hidden. This setting has no effect on the display of beneficial effects.
Show only your own debuffs, which would help for maintaining upkeep of your own debuffs. I wish it would allow you to just better tell them apart (make non-self ones smaller maybe?) but this is good for some uses. This and the one below was mentioned by u/zryn3.
  • Display hotbar number (Windows version only)
  • Enable hotbar cycling button (Windows version only)
  • Enable drag-and-drop repositioning (Windows version only)
No more hiding hotbar numbers behind other icons!
No more accidentally switching your first hotbar's Hallowed Ground to your dance macro!
No more accidentally dragging a hotbar halfway across the screen while trying to click the first hotkey!
Combat
  • When multiple characters are playing the same class/job in a party, the gauge for level 2 and level 3 limit breaks will now fill more slowly than before.
Best avoid class stacking. It's not mentioned exactly how much slower, but on LB-sensitive fights this should be a thing to consider. Thanks to u/kuma_k for mentioning this.
  • Status affliction resistances will now begin counting after the last corresponding status affliction is received.
It's not clear what this exactly means, but we'll have to figure it out soon, or we'll have a lot of confusion regarding stat resists for a while. If my understanding is right, it means that enemies will lose resistance a lot slower. (Another note: ifrit HM's eruptions are nerfed.)
  • The effects of the following actions can now be overwritten by the original caster, regardless of the difference in potency:
It's an empty list. It's not clear if this means it only affects specific actions, or, say, all DoTs. Will update if this changes.
Update: u/LittleMissTimeLord found the japanese part of this section and it seems to apply to DoTs, regen and "barriers" (presumably adlo and such).
  • The period of immobility upon being revived has been reduced, and characters are granted temporary invulnerability.
Promised feature implemented. Also via u/zryn3.
  • A FATE's difficulty will now be determined by the number of players who participated in the previous
Depending on how this is implemented, it could be a massive change on highly populated FATEs.
  • The action on a focus target's progress bar will now be displayed in front of the focus target's name.
  • The clickable area for focus targets is now larger.
Confirmed the focus target cast bar fix, and hopefully it also means it'll be easier to click the boss visually.
  • Amdapor Keep
  • Enemy HP and strength have been reduced.
  • The number of enemies in the instance has been reduced.
  • The number of Allagan tomestones of mythology received from the final boss has been reduced from 40 to 30.
  • The time limit has been shortened from 120 minutes to 90 minutes.
Looks like they want to make AK speedruns a thing again.
  • Garuda's channeling lines in the Howling Eye (Hard): Effects have been enlarged to improve visibility. The red line has been made into a dashed line.
My deuteranope friends, rejoice!
  • Damage-over-time actions that target the ground such as Flaming Arrow and Shadow Flare will now break sleep and bind effects.
I expect lots of angry and confused parties in WP on day 1.
  • DoT damage now affects objects such as crates and barricades.
Relevant for certain FATEs/quests/dungeons where you have to destroy stuff.
Crafting
  • The following items may now be dropped by enemies in greater quantities: Aldgoat Skin / Gigantoad Skin / Boar Hide / Peiste Skin / Diremite Web / Fleece / Snurble Tuft / Pudding Flesh / Hippogryph Sinew / Diremite Sinew / Wolf Fang / Raptor Sinew
Should speak for itself.
  • The bonus granted by the ability Inner Quiet is now indicated by a number on the corresponding status effect icon.
Should also speak for itself.
Pets
  • Pet positioning will no longer affect the movement of enemies, and vice versa.
Presumably this means Eos will stop pushing Twintania into fire.
On that note...
  • When set to Obey and Steady, pets will only execute actions when commanded, and will remain in the Steady stance.
  • The faerie Eos will no longer automatically cast Whispering Dawn when set to Obey.
  • The faerie Selene will now use Fey Light when set to Sic.
Looks like manual control over faeries will finally be a thing.
  • /petaction(/pac)
  • Uses a pet action on the specified PC. Uses current target when not specified. This cannot be used with pet actions you have not yet learned, or when restricted by other factors.
  • e.g. /petaction Obey
Thanks to u/seph64 for pointing this out. And yes. Holy BLEEP on a BLEEP sandwich, it's what you think it is.
